Do You Know Indian Travelers Spend 22% Extra On Last-Minute Flight Bookings?

As per the reports of KAYAK, around 14% of the Indian travelers paid an average of 22% more on booking of flight tickets.

Along with that, it also analysis that the Indian flyers have the risk of paying up to 33% more than the average cost for flights to their top destinations in 2018.

Flights to Dubai, Bali, and Bangkok are among the top destinations for the travelers in India. Talking about the prices for last minute bookings, these have raised 18 percent, 22 percent, and 33 percent, respectively.

Coming to the top ten most-searched places, travelers witnessed at least 10% higher costs in last minute booking.

Abhijit Mishra (Country Manager India of KAYAK) has stated that “With disposable incomes rising, there are more and more Indian travelers venturing overseas on holiday.”

According to the report, Bangkok, Dubai, Bali, Singapore, New York and Goa are the top searched destinations by Indian travelers.

Despite this, the tax on flight tickets for the economy class was reduced from six percent to five percent under GST.

But it is expected that the prices could go up for those traveling by business class as tax rates increased from 9% to 12%.
