Singapore Airlines has introduced ‘HIGHFLYER’ which is a new business loyalty programme. The program is designed to reward the employees of small and medium-sized enterprises i.e. SMEs and also tying in with the airline’s existing Krisflyer frequent flyer programme (FFP).
Under the Highflyer, businesses will get a chance to earn five points in the new programme like for every Singapore $1 i.e. US $0.7 spent on flights employees take with Singapore Airlines or its Silkair subsidiary while individual travelers earn Krisflyer miles.
Businesses can redeem these points on partial or full offset future ticket purchases on Singapore Airlines as well as Silkair.
Highflyer Programme differs from the Singapore Airlines Corporate Travel Programme which was launched in the year 2015 as that programme only offers corporate fares and other benefits to large businesses only.
That said corporates in the Highflyer rewards system that hit a particular spend can opt to transfer to the corporate travel programme. At Highflyer rewards system, there is also no minimum travel spend.
Campbell Wilson (Singapore Airlines’ vice president of sales & marketing) stated that “We are always looking for more ways to delight our customers and make their journey with us more rewarding. The Singapore Airlines Highflyer programme highlights Singapore Airlines’ commitment to constantly enhance the benefits of our corporate clients and business travelers.” – While speaking about the new programme (Highflyer).
The Australian Carrier Qantas has also introduced a new Qantas Business Rewards scheme earlier this year and Singapore Airlines is far from the only carrier to offer a business rewards programme.
