It is a country with 28 states and 9 union territories. This country is vast and rapidly developing country. You will see people with different religions and cultural beliefs everywhere. You will find several customs in this country, so booking flights to India isn’t the only thing. You must know about these customs before visiting the incredible India.

Visiting a Temple: Keep this thing in mind

India is a land of Gods and Goddesses. There are many wonderful, beautiful and magnificent temples in India. These grand temples are also example of beautiful art of Indian culture. You will experience another kind of peace in these spiritual places. But you should know one thing before entering to a temple – “REMOVE YOUR SHOES”. Besides that I have another important tip for you – “DON’T WEAR REVEALING CLOTHES”. Indians worship at temples and their emotions/beliefs towards their gods/temples are very deep. They might get offend if you do this kind of things. They take their religion very seriously – always keep in mind.

Tip: Respect their religious sentiments, even if you are not a believer.

Travelling with a Partner? Avoid affection display in public

What can be more beautiful than travelling with a partner? Nothing I think. But when it’s India you need to take care of certain things. It’s true that the beautiful waterfalls and symbol of love will make you show affection to your partner but in India you should think twice before doing that. However, you might see couples canoodling in the public parks but it’s not considered a good symbol in India.

Tip: Keep your love gestures secret; avoid this in the public places.

Are you a women Traveller? Read This

White women travelling to India are the center of attention in India. It’s not a new thing if Indian men try to encounter you. Besides that the pathetic and true thing is that they have some wrong notions about white women. So be bold and don’t be so sweet for everyone. Your politeness may be taken as a wrong symbol. It’s not that you will find every Indian man a pervert but some of them are. Always remember the safety rules to save yourself. Besides that there are officers in India for women security always keeps the number of them. You can easily call them in case you see any inappropriate or suspicious act. You can get the number from Google.

Tip: Try not to wear revealing clothes and try to blend in the crowd.

Beliefs about shoes and feet

Hinduism is the major religion in India and there is a hierarchy of the body parts in Hinduism. Your head is considered superior to the rest of the body, and the feet are on lowest rank. Some people remove shoes before entering to their homes. So if you are visiting to some places like this, take care of things like that. Remove your shoes and in case you forgot, ask for apologies. In case you are visiting very conservative areas I would like to share some important things with you. People consider touching feet as a symbol of paying respect. Besides that Indians never eat food with their left hands. They like to do every good thing like giving gifts with their right hands.

Tips: Try to follow their beliefs even if you find them conservative.

Try to Avoid Staring Eyes

People in India are very curious and fascinated about foreign visitors. In India you will have to face questioning eyes or staring.  But it’s not because you did anything wrong. It’s just they think foreigners are superior to them and they are curious about you. Here you will find a lack of privacy. If you are searching for a personal space then you might get disappointed. So if you find people staring at you, try to not take it personally. Sometimes they will try to talk to you without any reason and you will think that its none of their business. But it’s fine; it’s just a friendly curiosity. There is another thing that I would like to share; if you will pass a smile to a stranger you will get a smile back without any reason. It is just a symbol of politeness or niceness.

Tip: Don’t sacrifice your security after politeness. Act smart and don’t trust people blindly, also use your minds.

Foreigners are Rich! They think, so you will be hounded

In India you will be seen as a rich foreigner thanks to the exchange rate. Besides that most of the times you’ll be followed around by beggars. It’s not over here taxi drivers will try to fool you. Thanks to Google, you can search things on Google and get some idea about the things. If you have some local friends then ask them about the standard rates. In case you’re looking to do some great shopping or to travel in a comfortable public transport, you need to know.

Tips: Before paying for anything that’s rate is not published or unknown to you, Google once.
