On January 18, United Airlines launched its new route from its hub in Houston (IAH) to Sydney (SYD). And this flight becomes the 2nd longest routes of united airlines and the longest flight currently being flown to/from the U.S.
This route flight beats out the flight of Qantas that flies from Dallas (DFW) to Sydney with a distance of 18 miles. The departure segment is of 17 hours, 30 minutes, while the return is 15 hours, 40 minutes. United is using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to cover the distance.
They are ranked according to time blocked out for the flight in the schedules of airlines. There are such factors that measure the flights’ ranking are aircraft type, routes, flight timing that can change seasonally, etc. That is why some flights that are longer in distance are ranked below as compared to others that cover fewer miles.
