Your mobile device must need an active internet connection in order to use a Mobile Boarding Pass. For iPhone users, they can optionally use the “screenshot” feature to save a copy of the mobile boarding pass to the phone. This feature is also there on other phones and they can also take the screenshot and save their Mobile Boarding Pass.
