Emirates Introduces Range Of Exclusive Wines
Recently the Dubai based airline, Emirates has introduced a wide range of exclusive wines and champagnes. The passengers can get the glimpse of these on board and in its lounges. The lounge will include prestigious wines like the Chateau d’Yquem 2005, Dom Pérignon 2009 Vintage, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008, 1963 Graham’s Colheita Port, and Dom Pérignon 2005 Rosé.
The serving of such a huge variety on board is successful due to the relationship of the airline with some of the world’s prestigious chateaux and vineyards who hand-pick and secure these exclusive wines. Following are the options in the Emirates Wine List:
Chateau d’Yquem 2005:
WHERE TO SERVE?
This type of wine will be served in First Class of Emirates. It is exclusively available on routes to Australia, South East Asia, and New Zealand.
SPECIALITY:
- It is a sweet white dessert wine from Sauternes in the Bordeaux region of France. The 2005 Chateau d’Yquem is a “Superior First Growth” and has acquired a rating of 97 out of 100 on influential critic Robert Parker’s wine rating scale.
- It is also selected as one of the highest scoring wines of all time.
MADE UP OF:
Chateau d’Yquem 2005 has green plum, ginger, heather, creamed pineapple and ripe apple flavors all melded together.
Dom Pérignon 2005 Rosé:

Dom Pérignon champagnes will soon be served in the Emirates First Class Suites. Passengers can enjoy this luxury cuvée in the First Class on European routes as well as on flights to USA and Canada.
SPECIALITY:
- Emirates will be serving the Dom Pérignon Rosé 2005 for the next three months. It will be paired with specially created canapés.
MADE UP OF:
This special wine is made up of Dom Pérignon Rosé which is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Hautvillers and fermented as a red Burgundy. This vintage has tropical aromas of guava and curry leaves and is included cocoa and toasted spices.
1963 Graham’s Colheita Port:
WHERE TO SERVE?
This vintage wine will soon be available in the First Class across the fleet until October 2017.
SPECIALITY:
- It is originated from the Douro Valley in Northern Portugal.
- It is crushed in the traditional way by foot in stone ‘Lagares’ i.e. treading tanks. The grapes for this wine come from five vineyards.
MADE UP OF:
The 1963 Graham’s Colheita Port includes intense flavors of fig, walnut, coffee and a caramelized nutty edge along with the hints of cigar box and toffee.
Dom Pérignon 2009 Vintage:
WHERE TO SERVE?
Passengers of the first class in Emirates flight can also enjoy the Dom Pérignon 2009 Vintage. It is available on medium and long haul flights from October.
SPECIALITY:
- This is one of the latest prestige cuvée to be served on board. Before this, Emirates served the 2005 and 2006 vintages.
- The Dom Pérignon 2009 Vintage will be served with canapés which are the creation of the Emirates team and Dom Pérignon Executive Chef Marco Fadiga.
- Passengers can avail hot and cold canapés which are available in vegetarian option.
MADE UP OF:
This vintage supports the flavors of stone fruits, guava and grapefruit zest along with the fresh toast and vanilla. It also includes the lemon brioche, hints of nectarine, vitality and good persistence.
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008 in First Class Lounges in Dubai:
WHERE TO SERVE?
As a result of the long-term partnership between Emirates Airlines and Moët Hennessy, the airline will serve the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008 in all three First Class lounges in Dubai but for a limited time only.
SPECIALITY:
- The partnership of Emirates Airlines and Moët Hennessy has completed more than 25 years. Hence the airline has been serving Moët & Chandon Imperial Champagne in Emirates First Class lounges in Dubai.
MADE UP OF:
This particular vintage has been aging in the cellars for about seven years. It consists of floral notes of Linden, honeysuckle, and acacia with citrus nuances evocative of bergamot and mandarin orange zest. It supports flavors of the dash of anise and green tomato too.
Moët & Chandon Canapé Pairings:
WHERE TO SERVE?
The Moët & Chandon Champagne will be served in the Business Class lounge at Concourse B Dubai International Airport.
SPECIALITY:
- It will also feature specially developed canapés which will pair up with four of Moët & Chandon’s finest champagnes.
- The combination of 4 will include Moët Impérial, Moët Rosé Impérial, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage and Moët Nectar Impérial.
Recently, Emirates has also doubled the amount of free Wi-Fi usage for the passengers of economy class, expanding availability for frequent flyers.
