Delhi Airport Continues Its Award-Winning Journey With 2 More Green Honors
At Wings India Award, Delhi International Airport has won as the ‘Most Sustainable and Green Airport’. Along with that, in the Airports Council International’s Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2018; the airport owns a silver medal for its sustainable waste management.
The civil aviation ministry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry; FICCI organized the Wings India Award ceremony which was held in Hyderabad. In April, the Green Airports Recognition event will be held in Japan.
In the category of more than 40 million passengers per year, Delhi Airport is being declared by Airports Council International as the world’s number 1 airport. This leads the airport to win two green awards too.
1. Prabhakara Rao (CEO of Delhi International Airport Authority Ltd.) stated that “This is the third award in one week and we believe in sustainable excellence.” DIAL plans to conduct business in a friendly environment and adopt a sustainable manner to minimize the impact on the same.
Along with that, it also has undertaken various green initiatives. This includes carbon neutrality, energy and water management, green building program, renewable energy program and effective waste management.
