Delta Announced Two New Direct Flights From GSP To NYC’s LaGuardia Airport!
On Monday (April 23, 2018), GSP Airport announced that Atlanta airport -based Delta Airlines will add two new nonstop daily flights to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). These 2 new direct flights from GSP to LaGuardia Airport service will start from July 9.
Currently, Delta airline offers one daily nonstop flight to LGA. This means that now the service will grow to 3 non-stop flights daily.
The president and CEO of GSP, David Edwards said, “This is an exciting new service for those needing to travel into the New York area. New York is our nation’s most popular tourist destination and it’s one of the most popular places to visit in the world.
He also added, “In fact, New York City ranks as the second most popular domestic destination for passengers departing GSP. We are pleased to partner with Delta to make this much-desired trip more convenient.”
Flight Schedule Time:
- The new flights will depart from GSP to LGA Sunday through Friday at 6:40 AM, 12:40 PM, and 5:12 PM.
- Saturday service will also be available from GSP at 7:15 AM.
Facilities Offering:
According to GSP airport:
- The Delta will use its CRJ-900s to LGA, which have a seating capacity of 76.
- The flights offer first-class seating options, and economy class rows but do not have middle seats.
- In addition to New York, Delta offers daily flights from GSP to Atlanta and Detroit.
Delta is one of five airlines, which also include Allegiant, American, Southwest, and United, that serve the passengers with an average of 50 nonstop daily departures and direct service to 14 major cities and 15 airports across the US.
The spokeswoman of GSP Rosylin Weston said, “This new offering is another convenient way for customers to fly to New York City. It continues to open up the market for GSP travelers. And it gives customers whose destinations are beyond New York City to connect with additional flights going out of LaGuardia across the country and the world.”
During each of past 4 years, GSP’s passenger traffic has increased. From the last year, the passenger traffic increased by 8 %, which is increased from 134,508 to 145,289 travelers. Cargo traffic at GSP increased more than 45 % in 2017 to 49,395 tons, compared with 33,973 tons in 2016.
