Etihad Airways Is Trialing The VR Technology In Dhabi Airport Lounges!
Etihad Airways came up with new technology at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 3. They are trialing SkyLights Aero Virtual Reality (VR) entertainment technology at its flagship First Class Lounge and Space and Business Class Premium Lounge.
But to improve the in-flight and ground experience, the airways will examine it on trial basis. A trail will show how the VR technology can be used to improve the experience of the customers those have when flying with Etihad Airways. Skylight is now working closely with Etihad Airways in the advantage of developing the services.
The Vice President of Guest Experience and Delivery of Etihad, Linda Celestino, said, “As with the Etihad in-flight experience, we are constantly investigating ways to enhance our service and hospitality offering on the ground through innovative technology and customization.
She also said, “By conducting trials such as this, we already understand that modern travelers expect more information and seek increasingly connected and immersive experiences which engage and entertain them on every level. The lounge offers the comfortable design, luxurious amenities, and fine dining for the customers.”
This VR technology provides the cinematic experience in both 2D and 3D. Its SkyLights Aero VR headsets deliver the immersive and HD resolution with a wide range of content that users will be able to experience.
The customers will enjoy the technology with accessibility and ease of mind. The battery life of each headset is 6 hours. This means the customers can watch the blockbuster movies without the need to plug in a power cable.
Celestino Remarks, “The technology will provide more personalization and end-to-end entertainment solutions across all customer demographics, reinforcing our strategy of providing greater choice at every stage of the customer journey.”
Etihad Airways are expected to develop the technology in more locations by offering richer content for their customers to enjoy. The purpose to provide such services at the airport – sometimes there are long waits in departures lounges between flights. So, this immersive way will help the passengers to pass the time in the lounge.
