American Airlines To Add Larger Planes For Memphis-Washington, D.C. Flights!

The passengers of Memphis International Airport (MEM) will soon be able to fly to and from Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport (DCA). The airline will start the nonstop flights for Memphis-Washington and adds the larger planes or aircraft services to the passengers.

Previously, the airline used the 50-seats aircraft for DCA routes. But, now the airline will shift fully to 76-seats Embrarer 175 planes to DCA. And will start their service from June 7 with larger aircraft for all flights.

Currently, the airline provides the 3 daily weekday flights to DCA and one frequency per day on Saturday.

Facilities Available In 76-seats Embrarer 175 Planes:

The larger aircraft will provide customers:

  • Two-class service
  • Onboard Wi-Fi
  • Add 221 seats per week in capacity between Memphis and Washington, D.C.

American Airlines serves eight cities out of MEM, with flights to Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, and Phoenix, as well as Washington, D.C.

The chairman of the board of commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Pace Cooper said, “More passengers are choosing MEM and airlines are meeting this demand with more flights and more seats. It’s great to see this continual growth in service by American Airlines, and we know their customers will surely embrace the up-gauge to larger aircraft.”
