Tickets for infants are discounted from the full adult fare, which is traveling on the parent’s lap or in a bassinet. A request for a bassinet can be made in the Passenger Details section in the online booking.
Infant passengers less than seven days old are only allowed on board in case of travel for some emergency medical reasons or if the mother is traveling on sympathetic grounds.
Children in car seats (6-36 months)
Children of age 6-36 months may travel on board in car seats only if a separate seat is purchased for the child. Car seats can be used during any stage of the flight which includes take-off and landing. It must be the forward facing type only which can be secured to the seat by the use of the lap seatbelt and not a shoulder one which is for car vehicles. Airport Services at check-in will approve the infant car seat for use on board.
Children (2-11 years)
Tickets for children who are traveling in a separate seat are also discounted from the full adult fare.
Please Note:
The Emirates Unaccompanied Minor service is not available in combination with a discounted child ticket. Full adult fare must be purchased.
Children flying in a different class to the parents:
Children under 8 years of age who are flying in a different class to their parents are considered as Unaccompanied Minors and have to pay the full adult fare. When the children are both over as well as under the age of 8 and are traveling together with their parents in a different cabin class then all the children are considered Unaccompanied Minors and the adult fare would be charged for all. Passengers are reminded that visits should be kept to a minimum between the cabins.
