Major Technology Upgrade Announced By American Airlines Cargo

An announcement was made by the American Airlines cargo recently that they will be employing a next-generation cargo management system. The company’s technology will be transformed across the entire American Airlines Cargo footprint.

This is the largest investment of cargo organization to date that will rank the future growth of the company.

The customer experience will be enhanced significantly by the technology solution so that the American and its customers can grow together faster. Modernizing processes and systems exposure globally, it will be accompanied by the exciting advancements to American’s team members.

The cargo management system ICargo will be implemented by the American selected IBS software which is a leading IT solutions provider in the global aviation industry. American will move to a web-based fully integrated technology platform, with the employment of ICargo, connecting all of its critical business functions.

Planning Execution and Compliance MD, Jessica Tyler told logistics management in an interview “From booking to logistics to billing and everything in between, we evaluated all the leading providers and through that process landed on IBS being the partner with the experience needed to address the scale and complexity of our global business”.

To ensure the new technology and processes are brought into the business in a seamless manner, American and IBS are currently designing a multi-year, phased implementation and rollout strategy.
