Qatar Airways Reduces Prices And Doubles Weight Allowance For Transporting Domestic Pets As Baggage

Qatar has just introduced another facility or we can say that one more reason for passengers to love this airline. The carrier has responded to demand from passengers seeking to transport their pets around the world. And the airline has offered the “lowest rates ever” for travelers into and out of Doha.

The airline has also doubled the weight allowance for domestic pets to travel on the same flight as checked-in baggage. It increases the weight limit for pets and their containers from 32 kg to 75 kg.

Being the only airline that will carry pets as excess baggage to and from Qatar, the airline stated that it has gone beyond expectations and reduced the cost of traveling with a pet.

This move can be seen as a step taken by the airline to become the airline of choice for people seeking to transport their pets around the world.

WHAT TO KNOW?

In order to use this service, passengers need to make a confirmed booking for their pet to travel with them. In addition to that, after showing the appropriate veterinary certificate confirming the pet is healthy and safe for air travel; the animal is delivered to a specially designated area at the Airport.

Along with the domestic pets, the airline’s cargo division regularly uses its freighters to transport valuable show horses, dairy cows and animals for relocation.

The domestic pets travel in a specially equipped animal transport section of the airline’s cargo aircraft. In addition to that, QR Cargo has qualified veterinary and husbandry personnel at its Doha hub plus the husbandry staff members are also there on every animal transport flight.
