More “Mint” Services in JetBlue Routes

JetBlue has announced to offer more Mint services in its routes. The Mint flat-bed seats were first introduced in its A321 air carriers, this had made the airline have its first premium seating. With this Mint service, JetBlue started offering its premium passengers an option of lie-flat beds, more improved food selections and amenity kits.

Presently, these services are offered on JetBlue’s routes from JFK to Los Angeles and San Francisco and also on flights from Boston to San Francisco. Additionally, JetBlue also flies its Mint services to the Caribbean, on its year-round JFK-Barbados flights, seasonally on JFK-Aruba and Boston-Barbados routes. This makes JetBlue the only American airline to offer reclining beds on routes to the Caribbean.

Coming fall, the airline will add more of these seats on other routes too. The airline’s Mint service on Boston and Los Angeles routes will start from October 20. At first, this service will be available only on three daily flights, however, there are plans to expand this service to all flights for this route, by November.

In addition to the above routes, JetBlue would be further adding this service to a few Caribbean routes. The Mint seating will now be offered to two Caribbean routes from New York and one Caribbean route from Boston.

From November 5, this service will also be available from its New York hub to St. Lucia and St. Maarten. Moreover, from JetBlue’s Boston hub, the Mint seating is available to Aruba as well.

Reiterating the merits of JetBlue’s Mint service, Marty St. George, executive vice president for commercial and planning, has said that JetBlue’s services are more personalized and hence are winning over the passengers. The Mint services are unlike the traditional ones offered by other carriers, as these cabins are much better designed, more comfortable with better entertainment features.
