Award-winning airline, Qatar Airways Serves Locally-Smoked Salmon as Fresh New Ingredient For First and Business Class Dining

Doha (Qatar): By using the traditional Scandinavian methods, a Qatar-based company is ready to serve smoke fresh Norwegian salmon. This will serve on board of Qatar Airways flights.

The airline’s First Class and Business Class passengers can choose from exquisitely presented locally-smoked salmon dishes. This will consider as the part of Qatar Airways’ bespoke à la carte dine-on-demand menu.

You can enjoy dishes like Pre-Sliced Smoked Salmon, Chilled Salmon Gravlax, and Tender-Loin Smoked Salmon along with more than 70,000 smoked salmon dishes a month. These are carefully prepared and served on board Qatar Airways flights.

These dishes are sourced from Doha-based Company Ocean Fish, which are one of the region’s premier seafood producers and also the largest supplier of smoked salmon in the Middle East.

Aaron Claxton (Qatar Airways Senior Vice President for Catering Services) stated that “We are delighted to be able to offer our passengers Qatari-crafted smoked salmon, which is produced to the very highest international standards, using traditional Scandinavian methods.”

On the same, Anders Jensen (Ocean Fish Factory Manager and Smoke Master) stated that “We only provide the very best quality fresh Norwegian salmon sourced by family-run companies in Norway and smoked here in Qatar, to produce bespoke locally-smoked salmon for Qatar Airways customers and meet the airline’s exacting specifications.”

For local customers, Ocean Fish also supplies its much-sought after smoked salmon through luxury Doha hotel.

For this purpose, Ocean Fish is using the Norwegian salmon for the flights flying directly from Oslo to Doha. It will be immediately transferred from the specialized temperature-controlled vehicles to the airline’s impressive chilled cargo.

This service is taken as one of the latest initiative taken by the airline to enhance its services. Earlier this month, the airline has also introduced a new Pre-Select Dining menu option which enables the First and Business Class passengers to board their flight in the comfort.

In addition to that, Qatar Airways has also planned to launch a host exciting new destinations around the world between now and the end of 2018.

Qatar Airways is a multiple award-winning carriers and also awarded Airline of the Year by the prestigious 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards. Along with that, the airline also won the award of Best Airline in the Middle East, World’s Best Business Class and World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge.
