WOW Air Starts Flights To The West Coast in USA
WOW air has formally announced that they will begin services to San Francisco and Los Angeles on 9th and 15th June, making these their fifth and sixth destination respective in North America.
The airline also has plans to start its low-cost flights to Europe in countries like Iceland from Los Angeles International Airport beginning this summer. The fare of the flights will start from $99 and passengers need not worry about leg-room or fare add-ons.
Skúli Mogensen said in a press release that “This is a game changer for WOW air, and arguably the travel industry, making travel to Iceland and other European countries both easy and affordable from California”. He further adds, “our low fares and service with a smile have been integral to our success and we expect that these new routes, at this price, will continue to excite guests from the United Kingdom and leave them asking where WOW air will fly next”.
However there is a catch, not all flights will have $99 tickets. Come May, WOW air will also fly to Montreal and Toronto where all the flights will operate from through Iceland.
As per the airline’s records, it is poised to double its capacity of passengers this year to more than 1.8 million as compared to the 840,000 seats it registered in 2015.
The Airbus A330-300 will be the largest aircraft to operate from Iceland on the routes announced. In the end Mogensen said that he looks forward to “welcoming Californians to Iceland and Europe with our super low fares to Europe.”
